The Washington Refrigerant Ban

Washington state enacted Bill 1112, or the HFC Reduction Bill, which went into effect on January 2020. This bill bans the sale of hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), a substance found in AC refrigerant and has been labelled by the EPA as an “ozone-depleting” substance.
 
What does this mean for you as the car owner? If your vehicle contains HFC refrigerant, you don’t need to do anything. The bill bans the sale of HFC, not its use. There’s no need for car owners to be concerned. If you have AC issues and a refrigerant leak, our auto repair center will use refrigerant in accordance with state and federal laws.
